Getting from Ben-Gurion Airport to Beer-Sheva:

​By train: In the days of the conference, the Ben-Gurion Airport train station will be closed for electrical work. Instead, the train company will offer a free shuttle service to the Tel-Aviv Mercaz Station from the Ben-Gurion Airport station running every half-hour. For more details, including the full list of shuttle times, please visit here.

Please visit Israel Railways schedules and fares pages for information on trains from Tel-Aviv Mercaz to Be'er-Sheva. The Be'er-Sheva North Station is a 10 minute walk from campus. Most taxis use a flat rate of 25-30 NIS for rides within Be'er Sheva.

​

By taxi: information is available here. The fare to Be'er-Sheva from the airport is approximately 470 NIS or $130 during the day and 570 NIS or $160 during the night (most drivers accept U.S. currency). The ride takes about 75 minutes.

The workshop will be held in the Senate Hall (bldg. 71a), room -136.

The Department of Foreign Literatures & Linguistics is located in Diller Building (bldg. 74), 5th floor, room 510.

Eating on campus:

  • Aroma Espresso Bar: located on the first floor of Diller building (bldg. 74). Cafe/restaurant; coffee, sandwiches and salads (25-60 NIS).
  • Student and faculty cafeterias: located in the Student Center (bldg. 70). Meat and dairy.

  • "The Diner": located in building 32. Meat and dairy (around NIS 25-60).

  • "Kapiot" (Spoons): located in building 28. Multi-purpose student diner; coffee, yoghurt, soup, sandwiches and salads (NIS 10-40). Also in the Student Center (bldg. 70).

  • "Be'er-Sheva Ice-Cream" located between buildings 72 and 73 (see campus map) offers small salads, pizzas, lasagnas, pastries and ice-cream (price range is around 15-40).

  • There are coffee stands in many of the buildings, offering pastries and sandwiches.

  • There are also several inexpensive restaurants right outside the northernmost end of the university, immediately to the left of the small gate northwest of building 90.

Recommendations for a quick breakfast:

"Aroma Espresso Bar" (located on the first floor of Diller building 74) offers coffee, juices, delicious pastries and an array of large sandwiches and salads great for a quick breakfast. For those looking for a lighter meal, "Kapiot" (located in the Student Center) offers yoghurt, coffee and small sandwiches. Both "Kapiot" and "Aroma" are very close to building 71, where the workshop is held.
